About St. Vincent De Paul Society

The St. Vincent De Paul Society is an organization of lay people who respond directly to the needs of the underprivileged in our community. Although it is a Catholic Diocesan based society, aid is given to people of all beliefs. The Society responds to emergencies and then strives to guide families towards better conditions in their daily lives. Vincentians provide support, understanding and information in addition to food vouchers, help with diapers, baby formula, clothes, furniture, etc. To complete this work the Society relies on generous donations from parishioners.

Do you have a sense of compassion and an interest in helping those in need? Our Parish’s conference of St. Vincent de Paul has been established to quietly and discreetly aid individuals and families in need. Traveling in pairs, our Vincentians provide vouchers to assist with the purchase of food, furniture and other household necessities to residents in need within our parish boundaries. Any parish member, over the age of 16 may join our conference. No formal training is required, but new members will receive some informal hands-on training through participation in initial visits with another experienced Society member.

Time: Visits require a commitment of one to two hours per week depending on the number of requests for assistance received.
